Preamble This week’s theme is Cybersecurity Maturity Program for SACCOS (CMP4S). Milima Security aims to enhance cybersecurity for SACCOs in Uganda through its Cyber Maturity Program for SACCOs (CMP4S). CMP4S focuses on building cybersecurity maturity by implementing a Managed Security Services Program. This initiative will improve monitoring of critical infrastructure, reduce costs through automation, boost staff productivity, and enhance decision-making with real-time data access. We are hosting a webinar titled “Building a Cybersecurity Culture in Emerging Financial Institutions.” As the financial landscape evolves, so do cybersecurity threats. It’s essential for financial organizations to foster a strong cybersecurity culture that empowers employees and protects sensitive information.The webinar will provide insights from industry experts on developing a strong cybersecurity culture, equipping institutions with practical strategies to empower employees to recognize and mitigate risks effectively. Emmanuel has over 13 years experience spanning across various ICT sectors such as; telecommunications, ICT infrastructural development, software development, cybersecurity and big data analytics. He has spoken at various forums within Uganda and across East Africa on issues of information security, data privacy, emerging technologies among others. Emmanuel is a member of the National Information Security Advisory Group (NISAG) of Uganda, a member of the Expert Group of European Union CyberNet Program, Chief Executive Officer of Milima Security and Milima Cyber Academy. Radosław Gnat, Cybersecurity Advisor, CISO Poland Founding Member Professionally engaged in IT industry for 20 years. Radosław gained experience with various types of companies ranging from public to private sector on which he worked from specialist, through consultant to IT Architect/Manager/Security Director level. Founding member of CISO #Poland Initiative which is a place for exchanging information, experiences and cooperation of information security leaders. Radosław gained IT security experience advising on risk & cyber security matters related to third party engagements, building ISMSs & helping create & manage security strategies & policies. Currently Radosław advises financial entities how to prepare themselves to stringent security regulations, like DORA or NIS2 and ensures that corporate capabilities are in place to maintain organizational resilience & ransomware preparedness while promoting value added approach to security and how it can influence business decision making. Robert Ntalaka, Program Manager Information, AMFIU Robert is a knowledge and information management professional, currently serving as the Program Manager, Information at the Association of Microfinance Institutions of Uganda (AMFIU). In this capacity, he is responsible for overseeing and directing the organization’s information and ICT functions. His role includes managing IT systems, as well as coordinating knowledge management and developing essential working papers and publications for the microfinance sector. He also has worked with various institutions in different capacities, further enhancing his expertise in the field. MODERATORJerome Okot, Chief Commercial Officer| Milima Security Jerome Okot is the Chief Commercial Officer at Milima Security, where he advocates for the integration of cybersecurity strategies across different businesses. He is also a member of the EUCybernet group of Cybersecurity Experts and a Botguard OÜ ambassador. Jerome is dedicated to enhancing cybersecurity maturity and awareness through campaigns and policy advocacy. He also delivers training at Milima Cyber Academy, focusing on cultivating careers for cybersecurity professionals and creating cybersecurity awareness among the corporate working community.
